ACORN

Mr Cornelisse has an oyster culture company with culture plots in the Eastern Scheldt estuary and in Lake Grevelingen. The company has been active for over 50 years, and produces nowadays Crassostrea gigas in total on 20 culture plots = 100 ha.in the Oosterschjelde and 4 ha in Lake Grevelingen Production levels vary from 2 - 4 million oysters per year (10 % of the annual total Dutch production year). Mr Cornelisse is member of the board of the PO Oysterculture. He cooperates with RIVO in a project to improve oyster spatfall

ACORN will assist with data gathering and will assist with the communication and dissemination tasks, and collation of existing data. They will also undertake evaluation and training tasks in addition to being a member of the Project Management Committee.
