PO MOSSEL

The PO Mussels is in charge of organisation of the Dutch mussel culture, i.e. drawing fishing and management plans, and has responsibility for the co-management of mussel seed fishery, requests for permits, and control of fishing by black box registration. The PO is the official partner for the government and has 80 members being all mussel farmers in The Netherlands

Mr Hans van Geesbergen has extensive experience in gouvernemntal and municipal management. He is member of the regional parliament in the province of Zeeland. Since 1997 he is the general secretary of the PO Mussels. He is also the general secretary of the Zeeland fishery organisation Zevibel.
